•Late gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi popularly known as Aduke Gold
Controversies have continued to trail the death of gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold, who passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Shortly after her death, there had been different reasons adduced for her death, with some claiming that she died from complications arising from a fibroid surgery, while some opined that it had a spiritual undertone.
However, amid the controversies, the singer’s family has clarified that she died after battling cervical cancer.
The singer had succumbed to the cold hands of death while undergoing treatment at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, leaving many of her fans and fellow artists in shock.
“Whoever is saying what is not true should stop that. Our daughter was ill; she had cervical cancer. She was taken to UCH Ibadan, and unfortunately, she passed on. To the glory of God, she rested on a Monday. All information spreading around is false.â€
In a tribute to the late singer, another gospel artiste, Esther Igbekele, wrote, “A general has fallen. RIP Aduke Gold.â€
Another singer, Tope Alabi, wrote, “Aduke, you know I love you; but Jesus loves you more. Rest in perfect peace.â€
On her part, actress, Wumi Toriola, posted broken heart emojis to mourn the late singer.
Comedian, Woli Agba, wrote, “Aduke is gone. It is well. May God rest your soul, sis.â€
A fan, Mr Talk Comedian, wrote, “What is life? Nothing!
I remembered when you told me, ‘Egbon, I want to go back to school. My career needs education’. We met again and you said, ‘I’m done with my education. Now I can face my music career’. Now that you were supposed to enjoy all that you have laboured for, death took you away.â€
