The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has signed into law the 2016 appropriation bill with an assurance that the government would implement the budget.
He also promised that the government would ensure due diligence, fiscal discipline and financial intelligence in line with global practices.
The Governor gave the assurance after signing the bill at the Government House in little ray field, Jos during a brief ceremony witnessed by members of the State Executive Council, the legislatures and judiciary.
Signing the bill into law, the Governor assured the State citizens that the budget would be implemented for the benefit of citizens.
He also urged the legislature and judiciary to monitor the implementation process.
The budget is to also address the completion of inherited capital projects embarked on by the previous administration.
The Plateau State 2016 appropriation bill was reduced by the State Assembly by 7.376 billion Naira due to the current economic situation with continuous fall in revenue arising from the drop in oil price, as the government looks inward to improve internally generated revenue and other sectors in financing the budget.
