Lekan Shonde, the runaway man who allegedly killed his wife in Egbeda area of Lagos State, is now in the custody of the Lagos State Police Command.

The suspect, who had earlier boasted that he could stay in Lagos State for 30 years without being arrested, was on Monday afternoon handed over to the state police boss, Fatai Owoseni, by the commander in charge of RRS, Olatunji Dish, according to Nigerian Tribune.

The paper said in an online report that it gathered that the suspect surrendered himself to the police at the RRS office at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa.

“It was further gathered that the suspect had been traced to his friend’s house in Ikeja by the RRS detectives, when he decided to surrender himself,” the report said.

Sonde had last week allegedly killed his wife at their Egbeda Lagos home, leaving the body of his wife and their two children at home.
