BBNaija organisers reduces prize for Season 9

The organisers of Big Brother Naija have announced a significant reduction in the prize money for the upcoming Season 9.

The winner of the 2024 edition will receive a grand prize of N100 million and a brand new SUV, a reduction from the previous amount of N120 million.

As reported by The Nation, the show, which premieres on July 28, 2024, and will run for 71 days, will also introduce a new twist: contestants will compete in pairs, bringing a fresh dynamic to the challenges.

According to the Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice, Busola Tejumola, this change is expected to spice up the competition and create new tensions and alliances among the housemates.

She said: The ninth season of the Big Brother Naija show will be going beyond drama, we will be bringing in different blends of unique entertainment.

The show will run from July 28 to Oct. 6.

The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs.

Everyone curious for the theme should watch out for the premiere on Sunday, July 28. The show holds lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics and intriguing twists, she said.

The reduced prize money and new competition format have generated buzz among fans, who are eagerly anticipating the start of the show. (The Nation)
