Oyo workers threaten mass action over salary arrears

Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria labour Congress and the Trade union Counterpart have described this year’s workers’ day celebration as a time to mourn.

Their submission is coming on the heels of a backlog of unpaid workers salaries which they say has drastically affected their welfare.

They want the state government to offset the arrears owed its members with immediate effect or they would embark on mass action.

Correspondent Olutayo Famous Cole who monitored the May Day Celebrations at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan reports that the event witnessed a very low turnout. (TVC)
