Minimum Wage now N25,000 in Edo State

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has announced the increment in salaries of workers in the states civil service, a report from the state capital said. “The pay rise from N18,000 to N25,000 is expected to take immediate effect,” according to a Channels TV report.

It said that Governor Oshiomhole announced this during his address to workers during the 2016 May Day celebrations at the Samuel Ogbemudua Stadium in Benin City, the state capital.

“He also promised to pay outstanding arrears to civil servants particularly staff of Egor Local Government Area within two weeks,” the report said.

It said that in their addresses, the union leaders in the state among other requests called on the Governor to rescind his decision to scrap the state pensions board.
