A teenage boy shot himself in the head in a freak accident while taking a ‘selfie’.
The 15-year-old from India fired his father’s gun on himself by mistake during the incident in Pathankot, India.
The teenager, named as Ramandeep Singh, is currently receiving hospital treatment and is expected to survive.
A police spokesman said the schoolboy was playing with the revolver at home when the accident happened.
“The boy’s father and family said that he was trying to take a selfie with his gun,” he said.
“We will speak to the boy when he is declared medically fit.”
It comes after police in Mumbai launched a clampdown on ‘selfies’ after a man drowned as he tried to rescue a girl who had fallen into the sea while taking one.
A blacklist of 16 dangerous ‘selfie’ spots was identified after the incident.
Two other people have also died in ‘selfie’ mishaps in India during the course of this year alone. •Sourced from The Telegraph (UK).
