Olamide keeps mum on Asake’s exit from YBNL

Olamide and Asake

Amid rising tension in the Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) record label following the unexpected exit of popular artist Asake, label founder Olamide has distanced himself from any perceived conflict.

The acclaimed rapper and music executive declined to comment on the ongoing drama, maintaining a position of silence.

The trouble within the YBNL camp began when Asake, known for his hit song Mr. Money, erased all social media posts connecting him to Olamide and YBNL.

The sudden move has fuelled speculation and concern among fans and industry watchers about the nature of his departure from the label that launched his career.

Efforts by R to elicit a response from Olamide were met with silence at the Funnybone Live concert, held at Eko Hotel in Lagos on Sunday.

The rapper, who was present at the event, refused to be drawn into discussions about Asake, choosing instead to quietly walk away from reporters.

A member of Olamides team later clarified the situation, stating that the rappers presence at the concert was purely for the business of music and not to address rumours or controversies.

Olamide is here for the music, not to speak about Asake, the team member explained.

Asakes exit has sparked widespread speculation about potential conflicts within the YBNL label.

Fans and observers have taken to social media to express their concerns and theories, with some suggesting that there may be underlying issues that led to the separation.

Despite the swirling rumours, neither Asake nor Olamide have made any public statements to clarify the situation. This silence has only intensified the speculation, with many wondering about the future of YBNL and its artists.

YBNL Nation, founded by Olamide in 2012, has been instrumental in nurturing and promoting numerous successful artists in the Nigerian music industry.

The labels reputation for fostering talent makes Asakes abrupt departure all the more surprising.

Industry experts have weighed in on the situation, suggesting that such disputes are not uncommon in the music industry.

However, the manner in which Asake has distanced himself from YBNL has raised eyebrows, leading to questions about the management and internal dynamics of the label. (Sunday Tribune: Text, Excluding Headline)
