Tax reform committee recommends N800/$ as customs import duty rate

The presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms has recommended that the federal government adopt an exchange rate of N800 per dollar for customs import duty.

Taiwo Oyedele, chairman of the committee, disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing on the activities of the tax panel in Lagos.

The Guardian reports that the N800/$ falls short of the N1,000/$ proposed by the private sector. (The Guardian)
