‘It will save foreign exchange’: Obi hails Onyema, Air Peace on Lagos-London direct flight

The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has congratulated the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, and his entire team at Air Peace Ltd, for commencing direct flights from Lagos to London.

Obi, on his verified X handle @PeterObi, on Friday, March 29, 2024 said the inaugural flight which was scheduled for midnight, 12:10 am on 30thMarch 2024, will not only offer unbeatable fares to Nigerian travelers, but will also save foreign exchange, create jobs as well as contribute immensely to economic growth.

I join other well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, and his entire team at Air Peace Ltd, as they commence their direct flights to London, United Kingdom.

Their inaugural flight from Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London is scheduled for midnight, 12:10 am on 30thMarch 2024, just a few hours from now. This feat, as achieved by Air Peace, not only, arguably, offers unbeatable fares to Nigerian travelers, but also helps us save the much-needed foreign exchange in the country. This will further create jobs for our people and contribute immensely to our economic growth, Obi tweeted.

The former Anambra state governor while commending Onyema for his resilience and courage in actualizing a project that will enhance growth for Nigerian businesses on the global stage, added that this is part of our commitment to the New Nigeria which is becoming ever Possible.

I salute his resilience and courage in actualizing this dream while appreciating all those who contributed to the success of this project.
