Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has signed into law the 2016 Appropriation Bill of over 135 billion naira tagged “The Budget of Revival.” Signing the bill on Friday, GMA, as he is fondly called, said the budget was formulated in line with the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that seeks to ease life easy for the common man as promised during the electioneering campaigns.
The N135,303,100,010 budget in the 2016 fiscal year is made up of capital expenditure taking N70,407,990,843 and recurrent expenditure having N64,895,109,167. Governor Abubakar assured of judicious implementation of the budget in accordance with the rebranding programme of his administration in clear departure from the culture of the past.
He thanked the legislature for the speedy passage of the bill into law; an action which he said further confirms the Assembly’s concern for the plight of the people and its determination to support the executive to improve the life of the common man.
The appropriation bill, which is the first by the administration of Governor Abubakar, was presented to the Bauchi State House of Assembly early in the year and was just passed into law last week, few days before the National Assembly passed the 2016 appropriation sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
