Aviation Minister, Keyamo
Reacting to recurring blackout at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has asked the management of the airport to sit up or get booted out.
The minister has directed airports, particularly Murtala Muhammed International Airport, to ensure a seamless transition from public power supply in the event of an outage.
Keyamo, according to his latest directive, pointed out that beyond the embarrassment and discomfort passengers and other airport users suffered during blackouts, the security implications of blackouts were grave, especially with the prevailing insecurity in the country.
The minister had promised Nigerians the best in aviation management by eliminating any impediment in the effective and efficient management of airports and other aviation facilities in the country in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present government.
The minister was emphatic on the efficient management of resources at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, especially in power generation and management. (The Guardian)
