President Muhammadu Buhari would assent to the 2016 Budget that would be transmitted to the Presidency by the National Assembly, before the Senators and members of House of Representatives go on Easter Break.
News Express has learnt that the report of the Senate Committee on Appropriation on the budget would be laid by the Committee Chairman, Senator Danjuma Goje, and would be debated on Tuesday next week, while the Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikashuwa, is expected to transmit the document to the President after passage.
The budget, which President Buhari presented to the National Assembly on December 22, 2015, was earlier scheduled to be passed
The passage of the fiscal document was first fixed for February 25 but both chambers postponed it following errors and padding. The passage was then shifted to March 17 but the event was put off till next Tuesday to enable the Senate Committee on Appropriation to tidy up its report.
