Scores of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
The defectors, numbering over 200, were led by former chairman of Ifelodun local government under ex-Governor Abdullfatah Ahmed administration, Muyiwa Oladipo aka Kanu.
Kwara Speaker Yakubu Danladi-Salihu and APC Chairman in Irepodun local government, Abdulhafeez Yakubu received the defectors at the local government secretariat in Omu Aran.
He commended them for making what he described as the right choice by joining the APC and tasked them to be loyal and respect the party supremacy, assuring them of unbiased treatment from the party.
The speaker also assured the defectors that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would continue to do his best for the people of the state irrespective of political party affiliations to sustain his achievements across all sectors.
