In continuation of its efforts to provide relief to residents of liberated communities in Borno State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the North-East has delivered food and essential basic needs to Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Benishek Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Borno State.
The camp is hosting people from recently liberated communities around Benishek which include Galangi, Zakurari, Shettimari, Burma, Jalori, Shettimanuri and Walari. The team also conducted a need assessment to identify the medical supplies needed at the clinic set up by UNICEF to cater for women and children with a view to provide more capacity Drugs and consumables to the clinic to enable it cater for all persons with medical issues in the camp.
The Commanding Officer 29 Brigade Task Force of Nigerian Army, who also oversees satellite IDP camp, Brigadier General BA Raji, commended the agency’s efforts in addressing the plight of IDPs, especially through its Mobile Medical Team (MMT) that provides medications at the camp.
