It is disheartening to note of the latest predicament that John Okafor, popularly known as Ibu, has experienced.

Few weeks ago, he was all over the social media begging for help from the general public to get himself out of his health issue.

Nigerians from all walks of life spent their energy in making sure he got the money he needed to get proper medical attention.

He was lucky that Nigerians of good will didn't let him down. He was later flown abroad after having a ditch in the obsolete Nigerian hospitals.

Ibu was lucky because he had a name that helped him out even though the latest news of his health development was that one of his legs has been amputated.

Many were and are not lucky like Ibu because they had and have no name that helped them get the money they need(ed) for their medical attention.

This is because the health sector here has been relegated and the hospitals are like the theatre of the absurd. Recently, our doctors and nurses left Nigeria in droves because the authorities here couldn't help them live up-to-date.

Lastly, having a dangerous partner in a relationship like Ibu never talked good of the wife is a mishap. No matter the challenges, he was lucky he got the financial attention he needed from Nigerians. Many who didn't or don't have a name have gone and are writhen in excruciating penury and health challenges.

It is time we learnt from the Ibu experience that we are individually on our own if you don't have the money or name that will help you get you out of problem or people's attention when you need help.

It is a pity.
