The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Monday, February 29, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions over the northern cities with night time temperatures expected to be in the range of 18-23 o C.

CENTRAL STATES: Sunny skies will prevail over some parts of the central states with patches of clouds over Ilorin, Lokoja, Lafia and Makurdi. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 19-25 o C.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy skies are expected in the morning but later in the afternoon there are prospects of localized thunderstorms with rain showers over some southern cities like Akure, Abeokuta, Oshogbo, Enugu, Owerri, Awka down to the coast. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 22-27 o C.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and sunny. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences
