The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, February 28, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Sunny conditions are expected over this region. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 19-23oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Sunny conditions are anticipated over the central states. Abuja, Bida, Minna and Yelwa may still experience moderate dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 16-24oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected during the morning hours. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Akure, Oshogbo, Lagos, Benin, Warri, Port Harcourt, Eket, Enugu, Awka and Calabar during the afternoon/ evening hours. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 24-27oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and sunny. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
