Improvement in horizontal visibilities is anticipated today in the northern parts especially the extreme North, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET). Increased moisture influx to the South should give rise to increased cloudiness across some cities in the south, the agency said. It then went ahead to made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Saturday, February 27, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: There are chances of improved horizontal visibilities in sunny and Hazy conditions over this region. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 19-23oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions are anticipated over the central states. While one or two places may still experience moderate dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 16-24oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected in the morning while cloud build up are anticipated later in the day with prospects of rain showers over the coast and parts of the inland of the South later in the afternoon/evening hours. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 24-27oC.
NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and sunny. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
