The Senate has directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to issue a warrant of arrest for former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Lamorde.
Senator Sam Anyanwu, Chairman of the Committee, while presenting the report of the Committee to the Senate during today’s plenary session, had requested for a warrant of arrest for Larmode, having been accused of diversion of N1 trillion recovered loot.
The petition emanated from Dr. George Uboh against the former EFCC boss for alleged corruption.
Lamorde has refused to honour several invitations of the committee to answer charges brought against him while in office.
