Governor Mbah
An Enugu State indigene, Olive Udeh, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for what it described as his well-deserved victory at the election petitions tribunal.
Speaking in a telephone interview with journalists on Tuesday, Udeh, who is the CEO of CEELUX Group, an infrastructure development company, had, about two months ago, described the petition of the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in the last governorship election in Enugu State, Chijioke Edeoga, against Governor Mbah as mere shadow-chasing, saying that he was not in the least surprised by the tribunal judgement.
According to him, the good people of Enugu state massively voted for Peter Mbah and as such, the tribunal judgement was a mere confirmation of the will of the people of Enugu State.
He said that as a lawyer, he had looked at the petitions filed by the candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and concluded that they just wanted to waste the precious time of the court.
Speaking further, he said that even Governor Peter Mbah knew that the petitions against him were frivolous and as such did not allow it to distract him from delving straight into his mission which is economic recovery and positioning of Enugu State as the new hub of economic and social activities in the South East.
According to him, that was why in his first 100 days in office, Governor Mbah had already taken the lead as one of the most visionary governors that were elected in March 2023.
He said that with what was already on ground in less than 100 days, the people of Enugu State have seen that they made the best decision by voting en masse for Governor Peter Mbah.
Udeh commended the judiciary for not allowing propaganda and pressure from the social media to affect their judgement.
“What happened in Enugu after the judgement showed truly that it was the confirmation of the will of the people. Enugu people want to break away from the old order which has kept the state down. They want purposeful and transformational governance and they saw Peter Mbah as the change agent they needed to achieve this and voted massively for him. That was why about two months ago, I said, in a widely publicized interview, that Chijioke Edoga, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate was chasing shadows because Governor Mbah was not only eminently qualified to contest the election, he also won free and square. So, what was the basis of the petition? That was what the learned justices of the honourable tribunal also confirmed. So, for me, it was a victory for the people of Enugu State, in particular and Ndigbo, in general, because his vision goes beyond Enugu state,” Udeh said.
