Umeh expresses confidence in winning Anambra Central re-run

The candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the March 5, 2016 scheduled rerun election for Anambra Central senatorial zone, Chief Victor Umeh, has stated that he has worked hard enough to clinch victory even as he noted that the exercise would not be easy.

Addressing reporters at his country home in Aguluzigbo, Anaocha local government area of the state, Umeh said that he has been reaching out to the stakeholders in the zone saying that the response by the people towards his victory at the polls has been very inspiring.

He stressed that apart from his grassroots acceptability in the zone, the good works of the APGA –led government will stand as an advantage for him as well as the fact that the people have been expressing appreciation for his efforts in championing good governance in the state.

Umeh said, “We have everything going for us in this rerun election. We are pushing forward to the electorate with the relevant campaign issues. Though it is painful that I am going through this exercise again, I am still grateful to the Court of Appeal for giving us a chance.”

The former National Chairman of APGA said that some of the candidates lining up for the rerun election have been calling to express their support for him, saying that that in itself has been a hyped boost to his campaign move.

He, however, promised not to disappoint the people if elected saying that he is going to the national to serve not only the people of Anambra Central senatorial zone but the entire Igbo race at large.

So far, 13 candidates who participated in the exercise on March 28, 2015, are expected to take part in the rerun except for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which has been disqualified from participating in the rerun election by INEC.
