After ten years of playing James Bond, Daniel Craig has reportedly quit the 007 Bond series.
According to UK media, Craig 47, quit the M16 spy after featuring as lead act in four movies of the Bond franchise.
Though, no official comment has been made, but it is rumoured that Craig turned his back against the multi-million dollar franchise to star in a US TV series, Purity.
Daniel first played Bond in the 2006 film Casino Royale and went on to star as 007 in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
The British born actor had said last October, “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on,” when asked if he was planning on doing a fifth James Bond movie.
With the exit of Daniel Craig, some of the names linked to the Bond series includes, Damian Lewis, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender.
Having made a name for himself on UK TV in the 90s, a role in Purity would mark Craig’s first role in a US TV series.
Purity is based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen, and tells the tale of a young woman raised in unusual circumstances in Northern Carolina.
