The Federal Government (FG) has advised people in some specific areas near the river Benue and Niger to relocate due to possible flooding.

The FG issued this advice on Wednesday via a statement from the National Orientation Agency (NOA) which said flooding is expected in those areas after Cameroon said it will be opening the Lagodo dam.

It also advised people In the affected areas to take some preventive measures before the flooding starts.

People in the affected areas must move to higher grounds and they should be vigilant at all times.
