Excitement in Kano as CBN Governor rides horse at Emir’s Golden Jubilee Durbar

It was excitement galore this morning as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, mounted a well-decorated horse and expertly rode it as part of the Durbar marking the Golden Jubilee of the reign of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero.

Sanusi, who is a well respected Kano Prince (seen here on top of the horse), rode from his traditional house into the Kofar Kudu (the South Gate) playground for the Durbar. The crowd hailed as the Prince joined the Durbar, a special treat used to mark important events in Northern Nigeria.

The entire Kano is presently agog as people from all walks of life join in celebrating half a century reign of the Emir, during which period Kano Emirate has witnessed tremendous growth in terms of human and physical infrastructure development.

News Express will shortly publish more photos in its Photo Gallery.
