Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled a series of meetings next week as part of efforts to find a solution to the crisis that has afflicted it following its loss of power on March 28, 2015 after 16 years of dominance.
Statement signed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, and issued today in Abuja said: “In view of the recent developments in the party, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled meetings of key statutory organs of the party.
“According to the schedule approved by the National Working Committee, the meeting of the National Caucus of the party has been slated for Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at 7pm. It will be followed by the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) on the morning of Wednesday, February 10. The National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet at 2pm on the same Wednesday, February 10th, 2016.
“The meetings are in furtherance of internal discussions on very crucial issues within the party as well as ways to reposition it for the challenges ahead.”
