These and other exclusive updates, SHOWBIZ Xtra is serving readers hot and sizzling today. Enjoy it.

May we know who Liz Anjorin is beyond the screen?

I remain myself, Liz Anjorin Akanke Ibukun- Olu. I don't like too much friends, so as I make reasonable ones. I am naturally a hard-working being, ready to do anything legally when it comes to business. I am a hard working person when it comes to business or my job. That's simply me for anybody.

We noticed that Liz Anjorin has been in Nollywood now for couple of years. What actually makes you unique?

I want to start with the way I work with producers, directors and my colleagues. I mean my contemporaries and the up-coming ones. I mean the old actors and actresses. Some of them are my seniors, while others are my contemporaries. The way I relate to each group makes me unique. This has honestly kept me going over the years.

How long do you hope to stay in Nollywood?

Well, if God says stop today, I will just stop. Acting is not something you do forever. It can't even be so naturally. However, a very senior colleague, Mama Awero, has been acting over the years and she is still in the business till date. She has, no doubt, come of age and she is still acting. If you are doing a job, be mindful so that you won't be cut off from the job. But when God says yes, you can't say no, because one thing or another must tie you down. But if God says quit, I will, although I am not ready to quit now. The only problem I have with acting is that I love it so much. It's in me, and this is a serious problem. Although we are many in the industry, many don't have talent in them. I am happy that I have it in me.

How much has acting contributed to your fame today?

I must confess that fame has changed my fortune for good today. This is because if one is doing well physically and mentally in a chosen job, one is simply aiming high, even if unspoken. That's exactly what fame has done to me over the years. If one actually loves what he or she does, there would be no complaints of any sort, so one would be ready to face the challenges. But if not, there would be lots of complaints and he or she may not be ready to face any challenges. If you love something, you won't mind the challenges as you face them.

How do you react to some negative stories about you in the media?

When I bump into them, I usually call the writers and ask them where they got their facts from. You know that sometimes, Reporters write to thrill, while at other times, they write to make people laugh at anothers peril. Most of the untrue stories really baffle me because I know I did not do any of those things published about me. However, most of the Reporters call me before writing their stories and I show appreciation for this professional disposition as they took pains to hear my own version during my talking to them. I do this because I need to help them with their jobs. That's how it should be. Some Reporters don't even call before writing their stories. This group is naturally lazy in investigating true facts of the stories before publishing. In Nigeria, 90 per cent of those who read the stories believe them, while 10 per cent of the readers hardly believe the stories. But those who read the stories tend to react negatively somehow over what they read which may affect your business relationship, by making them to lose trust in you. Hence I react sharply if the nonsensical story was about me.
