Supporters of the Governor-elect of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, have scheduled a fasting and prayer programme for today in their quest for divine favour on the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate ahead of the Supreme Court ruling on the appeal by the sitting governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A message circulated yesterday among Abians said: “All Abians are enjoined to observe a fasting and prayer programme on 1st Feb 2016 from 6am – 12noon in support of the Gov Elect, Dr Alex Otti OFR in his case at the Supreme Court. May God grant our prayers in Jesus name. Amen!”
News Express reports that Dr. Otti was recently declared winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election in Abia State by the appeal court sitting in Owerri in neighouring Imo State, prompting Dr. Ikpeazu to head for the apex court to seek redress.
