Fuel queue
Fuel queues have resurfaced in some parts of Nigeria as a result of the hike in the pump price of petrol.
Daily Trust had reported that fuel which sold for N537 per litre in the nations capital as of last night was reviewed upward to N617 in some parts of Abuja on Tuesday morning.
However, this triggered panic buying as motorists raced to filling stations across the city.
At AA Rano Filing Station in Utako, there are vehicles on a long stretch within and outside the facility.
Our correspondents visited several filling stations in the city centre where queues have extended to the road, compounding traffic woe.
Also in Kano,
Also in Kano, Daily Trust observed that queues resurfaced at several filling stations that still maintain N540 per litre for PMS.
While motorists were observed to be avoiding NNPC stations in the state which has since morning adjusted the pump price to N620, independent marketers like AA Rano, Aliko Oil, Total and a few others were still dispensing at N540 per liter which has seen the queues in those stations increased.
A manager In one of the independent marketers told Daily Trust that they were also awaiting instructions from their headquarters and as soon as they get this instruction, they will adjust the price.
A manager In one of the NNPC stations in Kano told Daily Trust that they received the instruction to adjust the pump price Tuesday morning and the only explanation given was that the economic realities as it relates to the exchange rate was responsible. (Daily Trust)
