Nigerians and the world community will once again have the privilege of acquainting themselves with the economic opportunities in Benue State via the 2013 Akata Festival, the organisers have revealed.

A statement issued in Lagos by the principal consultant of Gren Business Dimensions, Mrs. Rosemary Duamlong, said it is for this reason that the 2013 Akata Business Conference has been packaged as part of the festival. She said that the conference “designedto bring together the most intelligent and progressive minds in Nigeria and abroad would come up on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Aminu Isa Kontagora Theatre Complex, Makurdi, Benue State.”

With the theme “Food Basket of the Nation: Untapped Benue”, the conference, “an opportunity to hear key business insights from experts and engage with prominent business leaders who are shaping the global community of today and tomorrow, would also provide a taste of the rich and diverse perspectives that characterise the vibrant Benue business community,” according to the statement.

It said that special emphasis would be on experience sharing and networking towards building partnerships that would translate the huge investment opportunities across Benue into wealth creation.

“Femi Fagite, a distinguished scholar of international repute and other experts will deliver papers on untapped business opportunities in the state” the statement said. “Benue State has huge potential for investment, particularly in agriculture, health, tourism and other areas. So we are expecting investors from different parts of the world,” it added.

Expected at the event are highly placed government officials, chief executives of businesses in Nigeria, across Africa, the international community and public sector officials as well as members of the diplomatic corps.
