The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, January 24, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Potiskum and Gombe should have visibility values of 2-5km in dust Haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 12-15oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Hazy situation are expected in places like Abuja, Bida, Lafia and Nassarawa. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 15-22oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Morning prospects of fog/mist patches are likely in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Eket and Calabar. Oshogbo, Abeokuta, Ibadan should be hazy for the day while Port Harcourt and Calabar may experience some cloudiness in the afternoon. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 18-26oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
