Scene of the shooting incident
Several shot, four dead, in separate shooting incidents that ripped through the five boroughs on Monday. Janice Yu has the story.
The latest in this violent spree of shootings was a 56-year-old man who was found dead in the Bronx.
Investigators found the man, identified as Kevin Roberts, with multiple gunshot wounds outside of an apartment building on Simpson Street in the Longwood section of the Bronx at around 11 p.m. No arrests have been made.
The victim is one of five killed after a spate of gun violence pierced through the five boroughs.
Brooklyn
A 16-year-old was shot and killed in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn Monday afternoon. It happened while the teen was standing across the street from where he lived on Marcus Garvey Boulevard just before 6 p.m. Monday.
The motive of the shooting is unknown, and police are looking into whether the 16-year-old was the intended target. Police have made no arrests.

Earlier that day, a 38-year-old man was shot in the foot at Nassau Street near Gold Street in downtown Brooklyn. That victim is expected to survive.
The Bronx
Over in the Longwood section of the Bronx, a fatal shooting claimed the life of a 27-year-old, who was fatally struck around 2:30 p.m. Officials found the victim on Longfellow Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head.
“I just ran to him, just dropped everything applied pressure to his neck, and I was just talking to him,” a neighbor of the victim told Eyewitness News.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown. An arrest has yet to be made.
Man dies after being shot in the head in the Bronx
A similar scenario unfolded outside a bodega on White Plains Road in the Williamsbridge section of the same borough, where a 48-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the back.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
Manhattan
In Harlem, a 38-year-old male was shot and killed Monday night outside 230 West 140thStreet. No arrests have been made in that shooting as well.
An arrest is also pending in a shooting that took place a couple of miles away in Washington Heights, where three people were shot in Riverbank State Park. Officers say a 33-year-old and 28-year-old were struck in the ankle, and a 20-year-old in the leg. They are all expected to survive.

Staten Island
Gunfire also impacted Staten Island, where two people were shot near Victory Boulevard and S Greenleaf Ave Monday evening. Those victims, an 18-year-old male and 19-year-old female, are expected to survive. The suspects are described as four males who fled the scene in a vehicle.
Queens
Three men were shot in the Rockaways section of Queens near Beach Channel Drive. According to police, a 56-year-old was struck in the right arm, a 37-year-old in the torso, and 21-year-old in the buttocks. The victims were taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in stable condition.
