Dangote Salt rebrands, stages a comeback to the marketplace

NASCON Allied Industries, a leading player in the Nigerian salt market and a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, has announced the launch of its rebranded flagship product, Dangote Salt. Dangote Salt, which comes in 250g, 500g and 1kg poly bags (sachets), is extra refined to give a purer and finer textured product, thus guaranteeing superior quality; it is also iodized in line with World Health Organisation standards.

“We have totally revamped our Dangote Salt, making it truly new and improved; it offers consumers a clear free flowing product at the right levels of iodization, moisture control and now has clearly differentiated premium packaging in line with our commitment to constantly innovate to exceed the expectations of our customers and consumers in Nigeria,” said Mr. Olufemi, Ashipa, Head of Marketing.

He also said: “The elegant blue and white pack delivers both functional and aesthetic value to our consumers, making the product pop on shelves as it is easy to recognise.”

Reiterating the value proposition of the revamped product, the Executive Director Commercial, Halima Dangote stated that the repackaging is a bold step as NASCON continues to lead product and packaging innovation within the product category” as she enjoined consumers to ask for the Dangote Salt product by name... saying don’t just buy salt, insist on Dangote Salt.

Dangote Salt raised the bar with its new salt packaging, made of a stronger and durable polymer that preserves the quality of the product while reducing the chances of wastage through accidental tearing. The new pack embraces a shift from the traditional yellow and red colours to a classy blue and white pack.

NASCON Allied Industries in 2014 consolidated on its leading market position and expanded its product offerings to include seasoning/stock cubes (under the Dan-Q brand name), Dangote tomato paste, and most recently commenced the production and sale of vegetable oil.

NASCON Allied Industries Plc. is a strategic business unit of the Dangote Group and is quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
