All is set for the 2023 edition of the annual Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award, AMVCA.

The event which is the 9^thedition is set to take place tonight, May 20, 2023, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos by 7 pm Nigerian time.

The award whichh has been described as one of the biggest entertainment events in Africa hopes to be a gathering of stars, with a razzmatazz of colourful black carpet moments billed to commence at 4 pm, while the main event commences at 7 pm Nigerian time.

With Toke Makinwa, Uti Nwachukwu, Sika Osei and VJ Adams as black carpet hosts, expect nothing short of exquisiteness as they interact with celebrities who would be gracing the black carpet tonight.

Just like at the 8^thedition of the award, viewers would have the opportunity of choosing their best dressed male and female celebrities of the night.

According to the organisers, all guests are expected to be seated by 7 pm before the doors are closed for commencement of the event which would be televised on all Africa Magic channels.

Popular Nigerian TV and Radio host, IK Osakioduwa and Miss Universe 2019, South African Zozi Tunzi, have been announced as hosts for the night.

Recall that Stan Nze and Osas Ighodaro emerged winners for Best Actor and Actress for Drama respectively at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Anikulapo, Brotherhood, and Shanty Town got the biggest nominations:

Movies with the biggest nominations include ‘Anikulapo’ with 16 nominations, while ‘Brotherhood’ and ‘Shanty Town’ bagged 11 nominations each.

Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Anikulapo’, Femi Adebayo’s ‘King of Thieves’ Jade Osiberu’s ‘Brother’, and Funke Akindele’s ‘Battle on Buka Street’ made the list Best Overall Movie alongside three other movies.
