Village where it has rained non-stop for 75 days

A village in Wales has been crowned the wettest place in the UK after it has rained every day since OCTOBER.

The wet spell of 75 consecutive days is now the longest in Britain for 92 years.

The 700 residents of Eglwyswrw in Pembrokeshire don’t even have a watering hole to go to after both their pubs shut.

Local garage owner Brian Llewellyn said the weather had been “bloody awful” and farmer John Davies remarked: “Even our hardy sheep are miserable.”

Despite the constant deluge the village hasn’t flooded, unlike other parts of Britain in recent weeks, as it sits 423ft above sea level.

However, villagers have tried to capitalise on their great British weather by buying water tanks as their homes can catch up to half of what they need.

The longest spell of wet weather belongs to Eallabus, on the island of Islay in west Scotland, where it poured at least 0.2mm of water for 29 days in a row in 1923.
