By IFECHI OKOH

Today, we are continuing our parade of Nigeria’s best comedians and their charges which was first published last week. In this edition, we are showcasing: Ayo Makun (AY), Okey Bakassi, Gandoki, Basorge Tariah and Omo Baba. Welcome!

AYO MAKUN (AY)

This refined gentleman of the Nigerian comedy concern whose real name is Ayo Makun, but known and addressed simply as AY, has his natural calmness, coolness and unique style of delivery going for him as a comedian. All these, attributes have since combined effectively to stand him out in a class of his own in the business. Aside from these, this friend of Pastor Kris Okotie, rakes in good money regularly from his AY show.He charges N700,000 – N1 million per corporate show.

OKAY BAKASSI

He is undoubtedlya frontliner in the comedy industry. It’s on good source that he broke into the business big time after showing that he is talented and had other factors to make him a success within the shortest possible time frame in the business. This actually played out and he was made, before a bigger opportunity provided itself with his appointment as Personal Assistant (PA) to former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim. From then, he has never looked back as it became a big booster for his comedy Carrier. He charges N600,000– N1 million per corporate show.

GANDOKI

On and off stage, fans and admirers call him Gandoki, and he, too, enjoys it. His real name is Tony Eruku. However, whether you call him Gandoki or Tony Eruku, he is still the prince of comedy which Ali Baba stamped on him years ago. From his outings, he’s just stand-up comedypersonified. Nobody has ever succeeded in taking that away from him over the years. He has a way of performing on stage to demonstrate that he is the master. Gandoki charges N1million for corporate shows.

BASORGE TARIAH (Jnr)

This Rivers State-born comedian, Tariah, really zoomed into focus when he played “Do Good” in Zeb Ejiro’s rested TV serial, “Candle Light”. As a thoroughbred and articulate entertainer, he fits in easily into any entertainment package, playing excellently whatever role he may be assigned. This is not surprising, given his background. His natural sense of humour and solid acting prowess were all he needed to find a place in the already crowded comedian community. Comedy aside, he is also a force to embrace in social events arena where he functions as Master of Ceremony (MC). Tariah charges N600,000 –

N1 miillion per corporate show.

FAGADE OLUFEMI ADEMOLA (Omo Baba No 1)

Call him Fagade Olufemi Ademola, which fans and admirers hardly call him, but fancy Omo Baba No. 1, his stage name they have been used to over the years. However, he remains the same humble Comedian who respects his fans and admirers’ feelings by just refusing to yab them while on stage for the fun of it in the name of comedy. For this high respect for his fans, they in return hold him in high esteem too. He is just one comedian who ensures his clients get their money’s worth. He charges N600,000 – N1.4 million per show.
