As the woes of Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, mounts, self-proclaimed God Olumba Olumba Obu of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) fame has declared that the embattled governor has himself to blame.
Amaechi, according to Olumba Olumba, is suffering because he unjustly demolished the BCS Presidential Bethel in Rivers State.
Amaechi has lately suffered a series of reverses, among them the impounding of his private jet by Nigeria’s aviation authorities for alleged illegal operation, the taking away of control of the state chapter of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party from him, his suspension by the party, and his failed bid to return as Chairman of a united Nigerian Governors’ Forum. Even so, Olumba is boasting that the worst is yet to come for Amaechi unless he rebuilds the demolished bethel.
Investigations by News Express showed that the governor’s travails have become a hot topic in BCS circles.
Responding to Amaechi’s statement that even if he is impeached, history will remember him as Rivers State Government, BCS missionary Marcus Godwin Marcus said late yesterday: “Indeed, Amy boy, it will become the greatest history of our time that your removal or sack emanates from your insolent action on the Olumba’s BCS Presidential Bethel you demolished. The mills of God grinds slowly, but thoroughly as well. Worldly people take note!”
Marcus, who is based in the BCS global headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State, added: “Olumba has said it, and without mincing words, you must build my bethel, period!”
Marcus, who took to Facebook to send his message, ignited a discourse among Olumba adherents, with all contributors warning Amaechi to rebuild the demolished bethel or prepare for worse days ahead.
“They have no choice they will build the bethel,” Marian Edwin wrote.
“If you are smart Mr Amaechi, Just quickly go ahead and replace what you have destroyed ASAP and don’t play with FIRE,” said Felix Obanor.
Amos Ekang used a proverb to deliver his message. His words: “Why complain? (The) ‘stubborn grasshopper always ends its life in the stomach of hen.’ "
