Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero, has appointed a new commissioner even as he reshuffled the cabinet he inherited from his predecessor, Patrick Yakowa, who died in a plane crash last December 15.
The new kid on the block is Hon. David Audu Chatjok, who replaces Zakaria Shamaki as the Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, according to a statement signed by the Governor Yero’s Director General of Media and Publicity, Ahmed Maiyaki.
Only eight commissioners retained their portfolios in the State Executive Council. They are Mohammed Usman (Education); Saidu Adamu (Information); Barrister Jonathan Kishi Adamu (Justice); Engineer Suleiman Richifa (Works and Transport); Mrs. Maria Dogo (Women Affairs); and Halima Saidu Labo, Felix Gimba and Ali Kalat (all for Special Duties). The changes are with immediate effect.
Commissioners who were reshuffled include Ibrahim Ramalan Giwa as Commissioner of Science Technology; Gambo Lawal (Culture and Tourism); Suleiman Ibrahim (Local Government); Timothy Gandu (Commerce and Industry); Zakaria Shamaki (Inter-Governmental Affars); Dr. John Ayuba (Water Resources); Pharmacist Turaki Kalik (Poverty Alleviation); and Sani Aminu Mohammed (Youth and Sports).
Others are Magaji Hunkuyi (Economic Planning); Architect Isa Idris Umar (Lands and Surveys); Bashir Ibrahim Sakadadi (Agriculture); Sunday Katung (Finance); Nazifi Mohammed (Rural and Community Development); Nasiru Aliyu Damau (Chieftaincy Affairs); and Pharmacist Patrick Maigari (Health).
Governor Yero urged the appointees to rededicate themselves to selfless service to people of the state.
