Breaking News: Fuel scarcity hits Abuja

Fuel scarcity has gripped Abuja, the Nigerian capital city.

Transport & Business Express reports that the fuel scarcity suddenly descended on the Federal Capital Territory this afternoon.

Our correspondent who went round parts of Abuja this evening reported that several filling stations were not selling fuel, forcing desperate motorists to besiege the few who had the product and were willing to sell.

“A traffic gridlock has already formed in the affected areas as motorists queue up in the hope of being able to buy fuel,” said our correspondent. “A long queue of vehicles waiting for fuel has spilled over into the service lane of the Abuja – Suleja Expressway, causing traffic gridlock, especially in the vicinity of MRS and Conoil, both of which were seen selling fuel,” our correspondent added.

Transport & Business Express could not immediately confirm the reason for the fuel scarcity.
