Military set to disengage 620

No fewer than 620 military personnel are to be retired by the Defence Headquarters before the end of this month, the Commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Mike Iloenyosi, told newsmen in Lagos at the weekend.

They will be drawn from the Nigerian Army the Air Force and Navy after having served the mandatory 35 years.

The retirees are currently being trained at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in various vocational skills to enable them integrate seamlessly into civilian life.

He said the retirees were now well equipped with relevant trade and vocational skills, noting that 451 of them were drawn from the army, 162 from the air force and seven from the navy. (Daily Trust)
