The Oodua Youth Parliament ( OYP) has advised the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko, to resign his appointment within seven days or face mass protest.
In a statement on Monday signed by its Speaker, Aaree Abdulmojeed Oyeniyi, the group threatened a nationwide protest if the MD failed to address allegations of corruption, fraud, and money laundering against him.
“Oodua Youth Parliament has been inundated with reports and complaints of the untold corruption, fraud, and money laundering perpetrated under your watch as the Managing Director of Nigeria Port Authority.
“Also, it was resolved at the last general meeting to call on the MD Nigerian Port Authority, Mr Mohammed Bello-Koko, to take the path of honour by resigning from the office.
“The expected resignation is to be effected within 7 working days failure of which national mass actions shall be embarked upon by our members nationwide.
“As a socio-cultural organisation with the consciousness of the national polity, we affirmed that Nigerians have been so disappointed by the unprecedented abuse of office, embarrassment, and betrayal of what the government of President Buhari stands for.
“We believe the agency is currently in dire need of rescue from the stranglehold of vultures and saboteurs which would be salvaged by the redemption voice of conscious Nigerians,” it added.(Daily Sun)
