Controversial actress Tonto Dikeh
By IFECHI OKOH
Celebrated and highly controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, may have had enough of the challenges of acting, calling it quits at last as a result.
The 37-year-old actress maintained that it has not actually been easy with her as a professional because of the challenges that come with acting over the years.
The pretty actress who made this public during an exclusive close-up on BBC Pidgin programme, maintained that it is time the youths join the elders in the politics of this country, where their ideas which are naturally more modern and in line with the times, were urgently needed to galvanise those of the elders who have been crying for fresh breath over the years.
“The youths now understand their value. That is if they fail to speak out now, things won't change to favour them. None of the youths wants to be quiet anymore because they have suffered enough over the years hopelessly. This strong belief was what motivated me and lots of youths to join the elders who have been monopolising everything for the fun of it,” she said.
Dikeh’s observation and protest may have undoubtedly moved her to join the state decision making echelon by pitching her tent as a Deputy Governor Candidate of a political party in her home Rivers State.
She is the second celebrated actress to join politics as potential Deputy Governor.
The first was Funke Akindele who is the current Lagos PDP deputy gubernatorial hopeful.
