Peterside mourns Pastor Tony Wali

All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has described the loss of Pastor Hon. Tony Ndubuisi Wali, a former Member of Rivers State House of Assembly, as a great loss to the army of Christ on earth and the community of God-fearing and selfless leaders. According to Peterside, Wali was a fine leader of exceptional spiritual and political stature who would be greatly missed by those who encountered him.

Dr. Peterside said this when he visited the country home of Hon. Tony Wali in Rumuosi Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State to pay his last respect to the departed parliamentarian, lawyer and Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor.

Peterside, while condoling the wife and family, spoke of late Hon. Tony Wali’s humility, forthrightness, fear of God and selflessness. He praised the departed former lawmaker for his exemplary leadership, particularly when he had the opportunity of serving his people as member of Rivers state House of Assembly.

Aside lauding the deceased parliamentarian’s judicious work as Chairman of strategic committees on education and health, Peterside paid tribute to Wali’s indomitable spirit that saw to the peaceful resolution of the age-long Rumuji crisis.

“Rumuji crisis resolution is to Wali’s credit because he actually led members of Rivers State House of Assembly committee that resolved that unfortunate impasse. And he was also a dependably ally of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who was the then Speaker of Rivers state house of Assembly,” Peterside said.

He therefore asked the wife and children to take solace in the fact that their father lived a good and worthy life. Dr Peterside who delivered a special message from Transport Minister Chibuike Amaechi, under whom Hon. Tony Wali served as Member of RSHA, was received at Rumuosi by APC leaders in Obio Akpor LGA and some former LGA Chairmen.

The governorship candidate used the opportunity to counsel the people of Akpor to always elect God-fearing and selfless leaders like Hon Tony Wali if they want to see the needed accelerated development in their area. He was accompanied to the Wali’s burial by former commissioners, former Assembly members, LGA Chairmen and political leaders from different parts of the state.
