Buhari gets ultimatum to end fuel scarcity

President Muhammadu Buhari has been given two weeks to end the long-runnning fuel scarcity across the country which has brought untold hardship to millions of Nigerians.

The ultimatum was handed down today by the Senate when stakeholders in the petroleum sector led by Jamila Shu’ara, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, appeared before the Senate Committee on Downstream Petroleum.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Uche Ekwunife, announced the Senate’s ultimatum during the meeting called to find out the cause of the crushing fuel scarcity and to find a solution to it.

President Buhari has ben widely criticised for embarking on foreign trips in the midst of the fuel crisis and for his government’s failure to apologise and clearly tell Nigerians what what is happening.
