Speaking earlier the state Governor El-Rufai said his administration’s partnership with security agencies in the state has yielded positive result in the last six months by rooting out criminals, particularly cattle rustlers from forests that have boundaries with neighbouring states.

He however appealed to the Inspector General of Police to boost the police force in the State with additional 7,000 policemen, in addition to the current number of 13,000 which he said represented only five percent of the country's police population.

El-Rufai said Kaduna was lucky to have the best brain in the police posted to it over the years, adding that all efforts are geared towards stamping out crimes from the state.
His words: “We thanked security agencies for making Kaduna safer in the last six years.

"We need more police men in Kaduna because we have 13,000 police in the state which is about 5% of the country’s police population. So we need additional 7,000 policemen.”
He then charged all the residents of the state, saying the people in the state must all remain vigilant in order to live in peace and harmony.
