The Almighty God ordained marriage for two major factors. Firstly, for procreation purpose, and companionship sake. The Bible itself even enunciated these two reasons in Malachi 2 verse15 and Genesis 2 verse18. But disturbingly and pitiably, the institution has since been bedeviled by trials and tribulations arising from breakdown in communication as a result of male chauvinistic belief, very common in Africa. Hence, in most unions, bunch of men strongly believe that women should be seen and not heard. But to the educated or enlightened women, it is not so. This contrasting belief has actually seen so many marriages to their early graves. Today, we are parading boldly, four showbiz celebrities notorious for beating their wives which really caused the sad and untimely death of their marriage.

On parade are Segun Dejo Richards, Eddy Montana, Goriola Hassan and Chikelue Iloenuosi. The last name who is a celebrated footballer, automatically qualified for mention here because he was married to Noollywood diva, Stephanie Okereke. Enjoy this lowdown!

SEGUN DEJO RICHARDS

He was running things officially for Kelvin Luciano's Questions Mark Records concern before it crumbled, leading to his inevitable exit and joblessness. We gathered from that moment, he became pretty emotional, taking out almost every slightest provocation on his innocent wife and celebrated Nollywood actress, Monalisa, who received the heat innocently for the fun of it, until the divine intervention of God. Immediately the turbulent union scattered, the pretty and peace-loving lady moved over to her uncle's home in FESTAC town and stayed there until she was able to raise money to rent her own apartment.

EDDY MONTANA

The quiet relationship which really started between him and his erstwhile wife, Kenny Saint Best (KSB), when both were on the Kennis Music label before Satan suddenly put a knife to the union following, allegedly, constant battering of the good-looking KSB who, we scooped, had to abandon the marriage as quickly as possible for the sake of her precious life.

We gathered that she dedicated her one-time album, “Turn Around” to express gratitude to God for finally delivering her from such stormy and pretty dangerous union.

GORIOLA HASSAN

When the tattoo-loving Hassan married the controversial and top Nollywood actress, Ayo Adesanya, years back, they had to wait patiently for the arrival of fruit of the womb. During that interlude, according to close feelers, they tolerated each other. But after the coming of their baby, Ayo expected Goriola behave better and show more understanding concerning the sensitive and touchy subject of his mindless and ceaseless battering. Sadly, he did not appear to have understood or change for good. So, she had to throw caution to the winds suddenly and the cat was pitiably let out of the bag, making all Ayo had been bearing a public knowledge and matter too.

This former Super Eagles player made headlines when he married celebrated actress, Stephaine Okereke.Showbiz Xtrascoped that their turbulent union was marred by hubby’s penchant for illicit frolicking which Stephanie reportedly resented naturally, leading to fights and battering of the actress. This disturbing and regular trend led to gradual and final scattering of the marriage contracted with fanfare in 2004, like badly arranged cards. The cantankerous union legally came to an abrupt end when the actress sued for divorce on the grounds that her husband was keeping another wife in US, alleging that that was the reason for her maltreatment. It was on that basis she was granted divorce.
