Timipre Sylva’s cousin kidnapped on the way to APC rally

Mr Krinpere Douglas, cousin to Chief Timipre Sylva, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in December 5 Bayelsa gubernatorial election, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Douglas was kidnapped Monday afternoon along Ogbia-Brass waterways when a convoy of boats were attacked by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

The victim was one of the APC members going for Sylva’s campaign rally scheduled to hold in Okpoma and Brass community in Brass LGA.

Mr Nathan Egba, Director, Media and Publicity, Syva Campaign Organisation, who was in one of the boats in the convoy, confirmed that Douglas was the only one taken away by the gunmen.

“The victim was coming for this campaign but, unfortunately, their boat, which was in our convoy, was attacked by the gunmen who abducted him to an unknown destination. I pray that nothing will happen to him,” Egba said.

The Bayelsa Police Command wsays it is yet to get a report on the incident.
