Lagos Govt. restores water supply, apologises for disruption

The Lagos State Government has announced an end to the disruption of water supply that sparked outrage across the state. “The Lagos Water Corporation has resumed production and water supply across the State,” Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said yesterday in a statement. He offered the State Government’s apologises “for the discomfort and inconveniences caused during the disruption of water supply in the last few weeks.”

“The government sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding displayed by the general public as our unrelenting efforts are geared towards ensuring quality, improvement and safety of water supply for the benefit of the residents of Lagos State,” Ayorinde stated.

He added that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has empowered the Lagos Water Corporation to ensure a smooth and safe discharge of its duties.

“We sincerely regret the disruption and assure the general public of safe and regular potable water supply,” Ayorinde said.
