Africa’s riches man Aliko Dangote has dismissed the rumour making the rounds that he is among those being held hostage by terrorists in an elitist hotel in Bamako, capital of the West African nation of Mali.
The President of Dangote Group tweeted from his official handle @AlikoDangote: “Rumour about me being held hostage is false. I was in Mali yesterday.Thank you for your concern. My prayers with those involved.”
As earlier reported by News Express and other media, Islamist gunmen this morning stormed Radisson Blu, a luxury hotel packed with foreigners in Mali’s capital Bamako, taking 170 hostages in a former French colony that has been battling rebels allied with al Qaeda for several years.
