Governor Willie Obiano has served quit notice to criminals in Anambra State, telling them to repent, relocate or prepare to die ahead of the 2015 Christmas. He spoke during a visit to the reconstruction site of the collapsed flyover bridge at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state for on-the-spot assessment of the work being done by the contractors, Consolidated Construction Company (CCC).
Obiano disclosed that American-style patrol vans with all manner of gadgets would soon be donated to the police in the state to help them in providing security for the people.
In his words, “The police in the state will soon be equipped with American-style patrol vehicles with every type of gadget in it. Police has been trained to manage that.
“I believe that will help boost security in the state. Criminals have been warned. It is better you
let go of crime or report yourself to the police station or be ready to die on the spot. Anybody that defies the security will be killed. We want total sanity in the state and we are not ready to run after anybody. If you are caught, then be ready to die.”
The governor commended the contractors for hastening to the site to ensure the free-flow of traffic during the Yuletide. He announced that his administration has launched operation zero pot holes in the five senatorial zones of the state, adding that work is in progress on all roads in the state needing repair to ensure that Anambra people returning home for Christmas a smooth ride.
